  3. The New York Pro Musica was founded in late and incorporated in March as the New York Pro Musica Antiqua. Its co-founders were the choral director Noah Greenberg and the recorder player Bernard Krainis. Of special interest to discophiles is the fact that neither Greenberg nor Krainis had any intention of creating a concert ensemble.
  4. Nov 02,  · Noah Greenberg put early music on the map with this production, and no subsequent recording of the piece can possibly compare with this one. The Play of Herod is from and in stereo but not quite so interesting in my opinion, largely because Oberlin and Bressler are not on it/5(9).

  9. Jun 30,  · The "Play of Daniel" has been recorded a number of times. Anyone interested in Early Music will have a copy. I saw the New York Pro Musica back in the 60's. "Daniel" was performed with a narrator (Alvin Epstein). I have two well played LP's -- one stereo, one mono. This recording is one of the pioneer performances/5(9).
